ACVF Mourns the Loss of Charlie Kirk
His life and legacy remind us of the importance of rejecting political violence in all forms. A new survey of nearly 70,000 college students by FIRE and College Pulse reveals a troubling trend that support for political violence is reaching record highs. More than a third of students say they would accept the use of violence to stop campus speech, while majorities would block peers from attending events or shout down speakers. These numbers underscore how urgent it is to reaffirm our commitment to civil discourse and the free exchange of ideas, even when they challenge us.
At ACVF, we will do our best to honor his memory by carrying forward the fight for the principles he held dear and by standing firmly against the destructive notion that violence has any place in politics or public life.
Regards, Tom and Bill
